Student Body Diversity
The student body at Strayer University reflects the cultural diversity of the metropolitan areas where the campuses are located. Through its online program, the University attracts students from all 50 states and worldwide. In addition, the strength of its curricula attracts a student population of various ages, a majority of whom are working adults.
As of winter quarter 2016, the University's student body had the following demographics. Students aged 31 years or older account for approximately 67% of the student body, students aged 23-30 constitute 28% and traditional college age students (under 23) constitute 5%. The percentage of female students constitutes more than 63% of the student body. More than 70% of students identified with one or more ethnic or racial minorities.
As of spring term 2016, the University was attracting the students it was designed to serve. 75% of students were studying part-time to balance the rest of their obligations. The average age was 35, with only 4% less than 23 years old.
