Add/Drop Policy and Course Withdrawal

Standard Policy: All students except those attending Florida, Georgia, Iowa, Maryland in the Global Campus or in JWMI, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia and Wisconsin Campuses 1, 2, 3, 4, 5

  3. South Carolina students enrolling for the first time are subject to the South Carolina special refund policy listed below.
  4. Online students who reside in a state where the University does not have physical campuses are treated as Washington, D.C. campus students and the Standard Policy applies unless otherwise stated.
  5. Students receiving VA education benefits who withdraw on or before the first day of class will receive a 100% refund, and refunds will be made within 40 days.

  1. In addition to all military students in the United States, Iowa residents who are spouses of military members with a dependent child may also withdraw from a course and receive a full refund of tuition and fees for the quarter impacted by the military member's deployment or military service. Alternatively, these students may, in lieu of a refund, opt to receive an incomplete grade in some or all of their courses in the affected quarter and later complete the course pursuant to Strayer's incomplete grade policy listed in this Catalog. Dependent child is defined as a child who is claimed by a qualified military veteran as a dependent on their Internal Revenue Service tax filing for the previous tax year.

  2. GoArmyEd students are reminded that Army tuition reimbursement policies are based on the withdrawal date and not the last date of attendance. Failure to affirmatively withdraw from classes could result in the soldier being required to reimburse the Army for the difference in tuition owed between the last date of attendance and the date of withdrawal.
