NUR 505 Informatics for Contemporary Nursing Practice

Prerequisite

NUR 500 and NUR 501

Examines technologies used to deliver and coordinate healthcare across various practice settings. Prepares students to contribute to the development, integration, and evaluation of health information systems into nursing practice and healthcare delivery. Learners critically examine various technologies, including computerized monitoring equipment, electronic health and medical records, simulation, mHealth (mobile health), telehealth, and other remote care delivery systems, and their impact on the delivery of safe, quality healthcare. Learners explore the impact of data, information, and knowledge on healthcare delivery and analyze the use of technology to evaluate and improve clinical and operational healthcare system outcomes. Learners will have the opportunity to apply this knowledge in a practice setting.
