NUR 515 Leadership, Management, & Interdisciplinary Collaboration
Explores the theoretical approaches to leadership and management and the role of the nurse leader and manager in various settings. Discusses advanced competencies related to the health care system, including: management, leadership, finance, and cost-effective decision-making. Learners explore leadership from a healthcare quality and safety perspective, while examining the role of the nurse leader through the lens of change agent and advocate. Evidence-based healthcare leadership and management practices, regulatory policies influencing health care delivery, cost containment principles, health promotion strategies, and the nurse leader’s influence on the healthcare system are examined. Learners will have the opportunity to apply this knowledge in a practice setting.
