NUR 510 Health Promotion of Individuals and Populations
Presents concepts, frameworks, and models used to foster individual health promotion and disease prevention across the lifespan and within populations. Learners explore individual and population health and wellness from diverse perspectives, within multiple settings, and based on various contexts. Learners examine health disparities, health equity, cultural competence, and vulnerable populations, with a focus on enhancing quality, safety, and reducing cost. The course fosters exploration of both innovative and evidence-based approaches to addressing these health-related concerns, while focusing on improving the health of populations. Learners identify best practices for developing interdisciplinary, population-focused approaches to health promotion and disease prevention, to ultimately improve healthcare quality. Learners will have the opportunity to apply this knowledge in a practice setting.
