NUR 520 Healthcare Policy and Politics
Focuses on the impact of healthcare policies, politics, and trends on healthcare delivery and professional nursing practice, and the concepts of regulatory and quality control as a basis for promoting higher quality nursing care, in alignment with the QSEN framework. Explores the implications of healthcare policies for leadership, healthcare finance, education, health promotion and community-based healthcare delivery efforts, technology integration, and nursing research. Ethical decision making and cultural competence will be explored within the context of healthcare policy. Learners will have the opportunity to apply this knowledge in a practice setting.
