Master of Science in Nursing
The Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) program provides students who hold a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and an active, unencumbered U.S. registered nurse (RN) license with graduate-level nursing competencies. Students learn to apply a systems approach to healthcare delivery and effectively apply leadership and management principles, theories, and interdisciplinary collaboration to promote high quality, safe, and effective nursing care. Graduates develop competence related to applying theoretical frameworks, research, and continuous quality improvement to their practice. Graduates are prepared to advance their careers as leaders and administrators who can effectively contribute to the improvement of patient and organizational outcomes within healthcare settings.
A 300 level
or higher statistics course is required to begin the MSN program. Students may
transfer in statistics or take MAT 304 concurrently with NUR 500 in the first quarter of their program.
The MSN program is not approved in all states. Please go to www.strayer.edu for information regarding program availability.
Strayer University currently does not have programmatic accreditation for the MSN program. Please be advised that without programmatic accreditation, Strayer MSN Program students and graduates may not be able to transfer credits to an outside institution in the pursuit of a doctoral degree in nursing. We cannot guarantee or make any promises related to our intention to pursue programmatic accreditation.
