Student Handbook

Appeals

A student may not appeal a written warning or grade reduction associated with a written warning other than in the context of a final grade dispute.

A student may appeal an admonition, suspension, expulsion, revocation of degree, revocation of Honors Distinction, or a grade reduction associated with any of the foregoing. The only grounds for appeal shall be that: (a) new evidence was discovered; (b) the consequences were not commensurate with the offense; and/or (c) failure to follow procedure constituted an error. The student must submit the appeal in writing, including any written statements by any persons that the student deems relevant, to the Provost, within fifteen (15) days after the student was notified of the original decision. The Provost’s decision on the appeal will be final.
