Student Handbook

Honor Pledge

All students are required to abide by the “Honor Pledge” as a condition of admission to the University, affirming that they will not perform acts of intellectual dishonesty. A copy of the Honor Pledge appears in each course guide. The Honor Pledge reads as follows:

I have read and understand Strayer University’s Academic Integrity Policy. I promise to conduct myself with integrity in the submission of all academic work to the University and will not give or receive unauthorized assistance for the completion of assignments, research papers, examinations, or other work. I understand that violations of the Academic Integrity Policy constitute severe academic failure and will merit the full consequences of academic failure, up to and including immediate suspension or expulsion from the University.  I understand that all students play a role in preserving the academic integrity of the University and have an obligation to report violations of the Academic Integrity Policy committed by other students.

Any student who, upon application to the University, refuses to sign the Honor Pledge must submit an explanation in writing that will be reviewed by the Dean of Students. If the Dean of Students does not accept the student’s explanation, the student will not be permitted to enroll at Strayer University. The University reserves the right to sever the relationship to or terminate the enrollment of any student from the University for any appropriate reason at any time without notice, a hearing, an explanation, or any other process.

The University may add a copy of the signed Honor Pledge to the student’s permanent file in the Office of Student Affairs upon any allegation that the student violated the University’s Academic Integrity Policy.
